چکیده

Hedonic pricing with quasilinear preferences is shown to be equivalent to stable matching with transferable utilities and a participation constraint, and to an optimal transportation (Monge-Kantorovich) linear programming problem. Optimal assignments in the latter correspond to stable matchings, and to hedonic equilibria. These assignments are shown to exist in great generality; their marginal indirect payoffs with respect to agent type are shown to be unique whenever direct payoffs vary smoothly with type. Under a generalized Spence-Mirrlees condition (also known as a twist condition) the assignments are shown to be unique and to be pure, meaning the matching is one-to-one outside a negligible set. For smooth problems set on compact, It is a pleasure to thank Ivar Ekeland, whose conferences at the Banff International Research Station (BIRS) in 2004 and 2005 brought us together, and whose work on hedonic pricing [9], [10] inspired our investigation. RJM also wishes to thank Najma Ahmad, Wilfrid Gangbo, and Hwa Kil Kim, for fruitful conversations related to the subtwist criterion for uniqueness, and Nassif Ghoussoub for insightful remarks. Determination and the estimation of the house price in urban areas has a great importance for governments, individual and state investors and common people. The mentioned estimation can be used in future planning and decision making of many urban and regional policies. In this regard, due to the vital importance of the house price in recent decades powerful and effective functions have been use...

On the Price of Stability of Fractional Hedonic Games

We consider fractional hedonic games, where self-organized groups (or clusters) are created as a result of the strategic interactions of independent and selfish players and the happiness of each player in a group is the average value she ascribes to its members. We adopt Nash stable outcomes, that is states where no player can improve her utility by unilaterally changing her own group, as the t...

Truncated Hedonic Equilibrium

Workers and firms in a bilateral matching market choose wages and human capital investments then match assortatively. This paper studies Bayesian equilibria of finite matching games and shows that as the matching market becomes large, Bayesian equilibria can be approximated by a truncated hedonic equilibrium in the continuous matching market. We use the truncated hedonic equilibrium concept to ...

Uniqueness, Stability, and Comparative Statics in Rationalizable Walrasian Markets

This paper studies the extent to which qualitative features of Walrasian equilibria are refutable given a nite data set. In particular, we consider the hypothesis that the observed data are Walrasian equilibria in which each price vector is locally stable under tâtonnement. Our main result shows that a nite set of observations of prices, individual incomes and aggregate consumption vectors is r...
